The Andalusian Emergency Agency (EMA-112) has reported that the number of incidents managed in the province of Granada during the recent May Day holiday weekend exceeded 1,100, specifically reaching 1,118. This period spanned from 3:00 PM on April 30 to 12:00 AM on May 3.
The categories that most frequently required 112 intervention were healthcare assistance, with 542 cases, and actions related to public safety, totaling 205. Other types of incidents attended included traffic (89), animal welfare situations (72), road accidents (52), and fires (35).
Additionally, rescues and salvages (22), basic service anomalies (16), and social service requests (8) were coordinated. Friday, May 1, was the busiest day in Granada, recording 337 incidents, closely followed by Sunday, May 3 (319), and Saturday, May 2 (314).
Emergencies managed in Granada accounted for 12.58% of the total in Andalusia, which amounted to 8,884. Provincially, Granada ranked third, behind Seville (2,185) and Málaga (2,024). Regarding provincial capitals, the city of Granada was among those with the most calls, although Seville led with 1,021 emergencies, followed by Málaga with 679.
The peak activity period for 112 was between 1:00 PM and 2:00 PM on Friday, May 1, when up to 177 incidents were coordinated within a single hour.
