Granada will become the epicenter of national acrobatic gymnastics from May 20th to 24th, hosting the Spanish Base and Absolute Championships with nearly 1,000 participants.

The province of Granada is gearing up to welcome nearly a thousand athletes for one of the most important competitions in national acrobatic gymnastics. The event, to be held at the Estadio de la Juventud, will bring together over 50 clubs from across Spain.
The sporting event, jointly organized by the Andalusian Gymnastics Federation and the Royal Spanish Gymnastics Federation, will feature athletes from all categories, from junior to senior. Concurrently, the Andalucía Cup Acro Gymnastics Open, an international championship attracting participants from various autonomous communities and countries, will also take place.
The provincial delegate for Sports, Eric Escobedo, highlighted Granada's consolidation as a benchmark for organizing top-level sporting events, emphasizing the opportunity for the province's national positioning. Meanwhile, the delegate for Tourism, Culture, and Sport of the Junta in Granada, David Rodríguez, underscored the values of sport such as effort and self-improvement, and the boost the competition gives to the city as a host for major events.
The Royal Spanish Gymnastics Federation has once again placed its trust in Granada to host this championship, recognizing the province's role in the development of the discipline. The federation's technical secretary, Covadonga Menéndez, expressed gratitude for the opportunity to hold the annual premier event of this specialty in the city, noting it is the third time it has been held in Andalusia, a region that consistently provides high-level facilities.
Granada is considered one of the cradles of acrobatic gymnastics in Spain, historically contributing gymnasts to the Spanish National Team and securing medals in international and European championships.
