The film Quién vio los templos caer, the debut work by Granada-born filmmaker Lucía Selva, arrives in Granada for an exclusive premiere before its national distribution. This acclaimed work, recognized at festivals such as CPH:DOX and the Rizoma Festival, where it received an award, will be screened at Cines Megarama from April 10 to 16.
The film delves into the transformation of Granada, moving beyond conventional tourist perspectives to explore phenomena like gentrification and the loss of identity in emblematic areas such as the Albaicín. Through a narrative that blends documentary and fiction, the film uses the mythical figure of Chorrojumo and the journey of Anas, a young man of Moroccan origin, to weave a poetic story about the city.
“"To capture an eternal photograph of Granada before it changes forever."
The premiere in Granada will feature a special program extending beyond the screenings. On April 10, at 8:00 PM, there will be a presentation and discussion with the film's team. Additionally, parallel meetings have been organized in cultural venues such as the Centro Federico García Lorca and the Casa de Porras, where topics related to the film and the city's future will be addressed.
Following its run in Granada, Quién vio los templos caer will begin its commercial exhibition in selected cinemas nationwide starting April 24, with confirmed stops in cities like Madrid, Santiago de Compostela, Santander, and Gijón. With this feature film, Lucía Selva establishes herself as an emerging voice in Andalusian cinema, delivering a work that invites reflection on Granada's past, present, and future.
