During the period from Good Friday to Easter Sunday, Granada's metropolitan transport system exceeded half a million passengers for the first time, reaching a total of 528,552 users. This figure represents an 8% increase compared to the same period last year, consolidating the growth trend.
The days with the highest passenger volume were concentrated on Holy Wednesday, which became the day with the highest demand with 71,063 travelers. This was followed by Good Friday, with 64,922 users, confirming its relevance as the second busiest day of the festive week.
Furthermore, Easter Sunday experienced a notable growth of 38%, reaching 27,703 passengers. Holy Tuesday also showed a significant increase of 23%, with a total of 62,424 travelers. The daily average of users during the ten days of special services stood at 52,855 people.
The special services implemented for Holy Week included uninterrupted transport from Holy Wednesday to Holy Saturday, an additional day compared to the previous year. In addition, operating hours were extended until two in the morning on other days, and train frequency was improved during peak hours.
The metropolitan transport, which connects the towns of Albolote, Maracena, Armilla, and Granada capital, operated normally throughout the period. Occasional crowds recorded at Recogidas station were efficiently managed by Granada Metro's security personnel, who were reinforced during times of high demand.
