The Granada Bar Association and Cetursa, the management company of Sierra Nevada, have joined forces to advocate for a national law that would strengthen legal certainty and uniformity within the Spanish ski resort sector.

Representatives from the Illustrious Bar Association of Granada (ICAGR) recently visited Cetursa's facilities to reinforce institutional ties and discuss common interests and future challenges. Both entities concluded that a national law is necessary to enhance legal security and bring homogeneity to the ski resort industry.

"A joint regulation would allow for the unification of requirements and clarification of rights and obligations at a national level for these types of facilities, which would provide greater equality and legal certainty to a significant economic activity in our country."

The meeting, which included a special session of the Granada Bar Association's Governing Board, saw the College offer its collaboration to Cetursa on legal matters. The aim is to contribute to a balanced and sustainable economic development model for the province of Granada. Additionally, a collaboration agreement was ratified, providing lawyers from the province with advantageous conditions for services and facilities at Sierra Nevada season after season.
During the visit, the College endorsed Cetursa's Strategic Plan 2020-2030 for Sierra Nevada, highlighting its positive impact on provincial economic development. Jesús Ibáñez, Cetursa's CEO, presented the plan's cornerstones, focusing on the quality of the tourist experience, sustainability, environmental adaptation, and the generation of wealth and employment. Over the past seven seasons, Cetursa has invested 150 million euros in improving the resort.
The College's members supported the plan as a key instrument for consolidating Sierra Nevada as a leading tourist destination and for the opportunities it creates for the province's economic development and the legal profession itself. The collegiate institution also particularly valued the public management of the resort, which directs its development towards the general interest, combining infrastructure modernization, environmental sustainability, and social return.
