Specialized technicians will perform a detailed inspection of the facilities to ensure they meet the necessary safety conditions for hosting the game. This measure is being implemented in coordination with the Granada City Council, in response to the series of earthquakes affecting the capital and its metropolitan area.
Since August 14, 432 seismic events have been recorded in the area, with 45 of them felt by the population. Two of the most significant tremors, with a magnitude of 4.8, occurred on Saturday, August 15, and Tuesday, August 18.
The inspection is particularly important given Granada CF's upcoming home debut this season. The team will face RCD Mallorca on Monday at 9:30 PM, in their second match of the campaign.
The club has emphasized that the safety of fans and staff is an absolute priority. Therefore, relevant protocols have been activated to verify the integrity of the infrastructure following the seismic movements.
Granada CF has also issued a message of support to the citizens of Granada, urging them to follow official recommendations and consult official sources for information on seismic activity.
“"The priority now is to ensure that the Nuevo Los Cármenes is in optimal condition for Monday's match and that fans can return to the stands with all safety guarantees."
