The red-and-black entity has begun implementing the initial actions outlined in the plan to improve access and expand the stadium's capacity. As part of these preliminary efforts, the Puerta de la Afición now boasts a fresh look, painted in the club's red and black colors, following the removal of previous vinyls that had deteriorated due to prolonged sun exposure.
The decision to start with this historic access point addresses numerous criticisms regarding its external appearance, which, like other areas surrounding the venue, lacked adequate maintenance. This renovation aims to meet a recurring demand from Granada fans.
With this renovation, Granada CF responds to a historical demand from its fanbase.
As previously communicated by the club, this first phase will focus on the comprehensive renovation of access points. One of the most notable new features is the restoration of the iconic arch that welcomed fans at the old stadium, incorporating three curvatures that evoke the club's rich history.
Although the access points are largely painted, important details still need to be added to the door panels, such as access numbering and informative and decorative messages. These reforms are expected to conclude in the coming days, which will address a significant request from supporters. However, other issues planned for later phases will still remain to be resolved.
The modernization project will receive joint funding from the Granada City Council, the Granada Provincial Council, and contributions from the club itself, utilizing CVC funds included in the LaLiga Impulso plan.
