The operation, named Katemako, concluded with the arrest of three individuals, aged between 19 and 25 years, accused of eight counts of aggravated robbery and belonging to a criminal group. Additionally, a 66-year-old woman is under investigation for marijuana cultivation and electricity fraud.
The investigation began following several reports of robberies in businesses in the towns of Valderrubio, Fuente Vaqueros, and Chauchina. The affected establishments were mainly meat product and ham shops, which drew the attention of investigators.
Analysis of security camera footage revealed the recurring presence of the same vehicle at all robbery scenes. This finding was crucial in identifying the alleged members of the criminal group, leading to the request and execution of search warrants for their homes.
During the searches in Alhendín and Padul, officers recovered numerous stolen items, including meat products, hams, and a bonsai that had been reported stolen in February. Furthermore, in one of the residences, a plantation of 180 marijuana plants, weighing approximately 20.5 kilograms, was discovered, along with an illegal connection to the electrical grid.
“"The meticulous investigative work has allowed for the identification of the alleged perpetrators, the recovery of some of the stolen effects, and the dismantling of the criminal group."
