The arrests took place in Granada city, Motril, and Baza, involving people with open cases or with orders for imprisonment after a final sentence. Most of the crimes for which they were wanted were related to property and socioeconomic order, including aggravated robbery, theft, and fraud.
However, the typology of infractions is varied, ranging from gender violence cases to driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, as reported by the police force in a statement. Officers actively search for individuals with pending judicial records in any court in the national territory, as well as those who are fugitives after receiving a final prison sentence.
Agents conduct a search for those individuals who have open cases in any court in the national territory, in addition to those who have received a final prison sentence and are fugitives from justice.
International collaboration has also been key in these operations, allowing the location and arrest of individuals sought by other countries. In total, the 83 arrests made in March have resolved 87 pending warrants.
Of those arrested, 70 people were detained in Granada city, which led to the cessation of 72 national warrants, one international, and one police warrant. In Motril, there were ten arrests, and in Baza, three, all for national warrants. All detainees have been placed at the disposal of the requesting authorities.
