The incident occurred two days ago when a patrol noticed a poorly parked vehicle near Plaza de Gracia, obstructing traffic. When officers requested the driver's documents, he took advantage of a moment's distraction to start the car and flee the scene.
Although he could not be identified at the time, officers noted the license plate. A subsequent check revealed the vehicle lacked mandatory insurance and had an expired ITV (vehicle inspection). The infractions were reported, and other patrols were alerted.
Finally, last Wednesday afternoon, a police unit located the car on the Carretera de Alfacar. With the support of another unit, the vehicle was safely intercepted. During an inspection of the interior, a bag containing 24 hashish pellets was found under the passenger seat.
The driver was arrested as the alleged perpetrator of a crime against public health for drug trafficking. The vehicle was immobilized and taken to the municipal impound lot.
