The incident occurred when an employee of a security services company found their van open the morning after parking it on a street in the Northern District. Numerous items were missing, including two alarm control panels, 12 cameras, an extension cord, six outdoor detectors, a thermostat, a repeater, and a router, along with various tools.
The total value of the stolen items is estimated at over 2,000 euros. The victim, aged 49, filed a corresponding report at the police station.
Subsequently, officers from the Provincial Citizen Security Brigade identified a 46-year-old man near the scene of the theft. This individual was carrying a bag containing several items that could be linked to criminal activity. As he could not account for their origin, the items were seized.
A check of police databases confirmed that the seized items had been reported stolen hours earlier. After being recognized by an employee of the security company, they were returned to their owner, and the vehicle break-in was attributed to the identified individual.
Although the arrested man has no formal prior arrests, he has been identified numerous times by the National Police in areas of the Northern District known for drug dealing, and has had drugs and bladed weapons seized on several occasions.
Finally, officers from an investigative unit located the man and proceeded with his arrest. The detainee has been handed over to judicial authority.
