Todo lo que no contabas is described as a testimonial novel, set during Spain's democratic awakening. The plot focuses on a family's struggle against drug use, narrating the life of Abel, a young man from a working-class neighborhood whose addiction complicates the lives of those around him. The work merges social chronicle with an intimate portrait of the environment, exploring the reality of a society where drugs were an "invisible enemy".
In addition to the theme of addiction, the novel addresses other relevant issues such as loneliness, the fragility of social success models, and the construction of identity in peripheral neighborhoods.
Antonio Lara Ramos has an extensive literary career, including novels such as La renta del dolor (2008) and Cae la ira (2018), as well as essays like La función tutorial: un reto en la educación de hoy (2008) and Propiedad y financiación municipal. Las Cabezas de San Juan (1998). He holds a doctorate in Contemporary History from the University of Granada and a degree in Educational Sciences from the University of Seville. He currently serves as the 1st Vice President of the Ateneo de Granada and is a member of the Center for Historical Studies of Granada and its Kingdom.
