The 'Frutibús', an initiative by the Junta de Andalucía, has traveled through 19 towns in the province of Granada this academic year. During these visits, more than 3,000 people participated in various fun and educational activities focused on Andalusian food and agricultural production, aiming to promote healthy consumption habits.
This mobile educational unit is part of the School Program for the Consumption of Fruits, Vegetables, and Milk, an initiative supported by several regional government departments. Throughout the 2025-2026 academic year, the bus conducted a total of 97 workshops, allowing participants of all ages to discover the benefits of including Andalusian fruits, vegetables, and dairy products in their daily diets.
Among the interactive activities on the 'Frutibús' are the 'Frutimercado', which provides information on the nutrients and cultivation areas of Andalusian fruits and vegetables; the 'Fruticalendario', focused on preparing menus with seasonal foods; and 'La cocina de los secretos' (The Kitchen of Secrets), where participants learn details about consuming horticultural and dairy products.
Additionally, the 'Frigoráculo' offers nutritional information and consumption tips via a hidden screen, while the game 'El Plato que todo lo sabe' (The All-Knowing Plate) helps visualize recommended portions of fruits and vegetables in each meal. Weather permitting, the outdoor race 'Esto es la leche' (This is Milk) promotes physical exercise alongside dairy consumption.
