The neighborhood group has submitted 2,555 signatures to preserve healthcare activity at this facility, which has provided primary care services to the neighborhood for decades. According to the association, the center is essential for a population with a high proportion of residents over 65 and those with limited mobility.
The proposal submitted to health authorities involves maintaining the current location and service portfolio while implementing an organizational adaptation of the facilities. The association emphasizes that this intervention would be low-cost and would prevent patients from having to travel to other areas, which would pose significant difficulties for users with higher levels of dependency.
Residents hope that the Granada-Metropolitan Health District will consider this alternative before making irreversible decisions. The goal is to ensure that local healthcare remains accessible to all residents of the Albaicín and Centro districts, preventing further reductions in public services.
