The Andalusian political group has expressed its solidarity with the victim, who was attacked by a group of individuals during the early hours of last Sunday. According to initial reports, the assault may have been related to the victim's clothing, as he was wearing an anti-fascist t-shirt.
The party described the incident as "brutal" and expressed its wish for a speedy recovery for the injured man, extending its support to his family and the educational community of the public school where he works. They also noted that the victim is a cook at an alternative bar, a cultural space in the city.
“"These aggressions respond to the hate speech of the far-right that, with total impunity, floods social media and sports venues, where a large part of young people gather. Discourses that resonate with young people and lead them to unite in a 'hunt' against people who respect human rights."
Adelante Andalucía has criticized that the right and far-right "sow fear towards immigrants," while, in their view, these same ideologies "target those who respect human rights and spread violence always towards the working class, native or foreign."
The group insisted that insecurity in Granada does not come from those seeking refuge, but from those who "decide to beat people for their ideology, ethnicity, or origin."
Finally, Adelante Andalucía has urged the Government Subdelegation and the National Police to conduct a "rapid and effective" investigation to identify and arrest the aggressors. They have also demanded that political parties and administrations take responsibility to "stop whitewashing messages of hate and curb the verbal and physical violence of the far-right."
