The production of Phil Weasley, a western short film, is taking place entirely at MiniHollywood Oasys in Tabernas. This cinematic location once again becomes the hub for a film shoot, solidifying its importance as one of the primary filming sites in the province of Almería.
Spearheaded by Murcian production companies AP-7 Estudios and New Drama, the project is directed by Barto Muñoz with cinematography by Raúl Pelegrín, both having significant experience in national and international festivals. The production team is led by Fran Marín, alongside Candela Lobo and Yoel Martínez, and benefits from the collaboration of BHC Creativa and Aural Levante.
The short film tells the story of an outlaw confronting the consequences of his past during the final days of his escape. Departing from traditional westerns, Phil Weasley adopts an introspective tone and a character-driven narrative, where the landscape of the Tabernas Desert becomes a crucial storytelling element.
The cast includes actors with extensive experience in film, television, and theater, such as Toni Medina, Roger Berruezo, Amaia Miranda, and Cristina Ruiz, the latter trained at ESAD de Murcia. This combination of established and emerging talents reinforces the generational character of the cinematic proposal.
