The Torremolinos Book Fair will take place on the Avenida Marifé de Triana from Thursday, October 8 to Sunday, October 11. The event will feature writers such as Lola Pons, Juan Manuel Gil, Miguel Santamaría, Antonio Fontana, and Isabel Bono, among others. The fair will offer talks, book signings, and various literary activities for attendees.
On Thursday, October 8, the fair will open its doors, allowing visitors to explore the stalls of participating publishers. At 6:00 PM, journalist Miguel Santamaría will present his debut novel, ‘La hora de los monstruos’. Later, at 7:00 PM, Isabel Bono will discuss her work ‘El mal de la risa’.
On Friday, October 9, Lola Pons will visit the fair to talk about ‘El dedo en los labios’. On Saturday, October 10, at 7:00 PM, Juan Manuel Gil will engage with readers about his novel ‘Majareta’. Finally, on Sunday, October 11 at 12:30 PM, Antonio Fontana will present his novel ‘Mala entraña’. Following each talk, the authors will sign copies of their books.
In addition to author encounters, the fair includes a comprehensive program of parallel activities. On Thursday, October 8, at 8:00 PM, Isabel Guerrero will offer a poetry recital. On Friday, October 9, at 7:00 PM, the reading promotion activity ‘Revisar los clásicos gracias a Chiquito de la Calzada: el princhiquito’ will feature Ángel Luis Fernández, and cultural manager Cristina Consuegra will coordinate the literary workshop ‘María Zambrano, la voz que nunca acaba’.
On Saturday, October 10, reading promotion continues with ‘Zombies, vampiros y lectura a gogó’ in a session with Carlos Sisí at 12:00 PM. Younger attendees will enjoy storytelling sessions by Elena Lekuona at 1:00 PM and 5:30 PM. The literary workshop ‘María Zambrano, la voz que nunca acaba’ will be repeated at 6:00 PM.
On the final day of the fair, Sunday, October 11, Elena Lekuona will conduct a storytelling session for children at 11:00 AM. At 12:30 PM, Rubí García will coordinate the activity ‘Cómo leer a señoras estupendas: las mujeres del 27’. The book signing program will include local creators, the Mijeña Association of Friends of Literature, and the Málaga Writers Collective.
