This action is a direct response to the damage caused by heavy rainfall in the province, which led to landslides, blocked wells, and the collapse of the drainage system in the area.
“"The current state of the road poses risks to road safety due to the lack of water evacuation and the instability of certain slopes."
Among the main tasks to be carried out are the comprehensive cleaning of ditches, pipes, and clogged wells along more than two kilometers of the road. Additionally, new concrete ditches will be constructed to prevent future flooding.
The project also includes excavation, trimming, and reprofiling of unstable slopes, an essential measure to prevent new landslides onto the roadway. Furthermore, riprap and gabion walls will be built at critical points to support the road platform. Finally, containment nets and reinforcements with concrete riprap will be removed and replaced in specific risk areas.
