The incident occurred in Castellar, where the animal became immobilized in the dense olive oil residue, posing a serious threat to its life due to exhaustion. After receiving an alert about the critical situation, four members of the Linares Firefighters were immediately mobilized.
The firefighters traveled to the scene with an all-terrain vehicle, initiating a complex rescue operation. The viscosity of the alpechín (olive oil residue) presented a significant challenge, making it difficult to extract the wild boar and increasing the risk of it drowning from exertion.
Thanks to the quick and coordinated action of the rescue team, the wild boar was successfully removed from the pond. Once safe, the animal was released back into its natural habitat, thus concluding an intervention that prevented a tragic end.
