The new infrastructure, named Palos (15 kV), involved an investment of nearly 900,000 euros. It consists of laying 5.25 kilometers of cabling parallel to the railway line, including a specific crossing, and connecting two transformation centers.
This underground dual feed minimizes visual impact and guarantees service continuity. Should an incident occur on one line, the other automatically activates, ensuring an uninterrupted supply for residents, industries, and services in the area.
The project was overseen by the mayor, Adrián Vaca; the territorial delegate for Industry, Energy and Mines of the Junta de Andalucía in Cádiz, Inmaculada Olivero; the sub-delegate of the Junta de Andalucía Government in Campo de Gibraltar, Javier Ros, and the head of Endesa's distribution network in Cádiz, Pedro Galindo. The group toured the area to learn about the technical details and benefits of the project.
The work, a result of collaboration between the City Council and the territorial delegation for Industry, Energy and Mines in Cádiz, is part of e-distribución's investment plan for the province. This plan aims to renew, automate, expand, and improve electrical networks to reinforce service, increase its quality, and facilitate the progressive integration of renewable energies.
