Officers from the Traffic Subsector of the Civil Guard of Huelva have brought a driver before the courts for an alleged crime against Road Safety. The incident occurred while the security force was conducting a special operational device to intensify services due to the Motocross MXGP World Championship at the Almonte Motocross Circuit, located near the A-483.
The events unfolded during the early hours of March 21. The acting Civil Guard officers, driving on the decreasing lane towards the town of Bollullos Par del Condado on the A-483 highway, observed a vehicle traveling in the left lane of their same carriageway, but in the opposite direction, towards Matalascañas.
Upon realizing the dangerous situation, the officers activated emergency signaling and proceeded to hold back the traffic behind them until the vehicle was brought to a complete stop. Once they confirmed there was no danger to road users, the Civil Guard neutralized the driver's trajectory, thus preventing a potential accident. It was determined that the individual had driven against traffic on the highway for more than three kilometers.
The proceedings, along with the investigated individual, have been handed over to the Investigating Court on duty in La Palma del Condado, which will handle the case.
