Firefighting teams faced a day of significant difficulties on Monday due to the rapid advance of the flames, which increased the affected area from 8,000 to 20,000 hectares in just one day. The fire has been described as "beyond extinction capacity."
In addition to the initial evacuations, El Madroño, located in the province of Seville, and four nearby hamlets had to be evacuated. Although the flames have not yet crossed the provincial border, a dense smoke cloud has spread over the Sevillian sky.

Given the fire's complexity, the Government has increased its aid, deploying more personnel from the Military Emergencies Unit (UME) and the Civil Guard. The acting Government Delegate in Andalusia, Francisco Toscano, announced that "more than half a thousand" personnel are now involved in extinguishing the forest fire.
Civil Guard patrols from Huelva have been joined by units from the Seville command. The UME has also received new material resources, including four bulldozers scheduled to arrive on Tuesday for rear-guard operations. Additionally, more forest brigades and aerial resources from the Ministry for Ecological Transition have been deployed.
