The show 'Empaque', a fusion of circus, flamenco, and humor that questions identity, will be presented this Thursday at the XLI Niebla Castle Theatre and Dance Festival.

The Niebla Castle Festival hosts the show 'Empaque' this Thursday, a stage production that defies labels and merges disciplines such as circus, flamenco, and humor to explore the search for identity.
The work, described as a "major commitment that undoubtedly demonstrates the quality of Andalusian creation," stems from the need to find oneself and express a unique identity beyond stereotypes. The show is based on the poetry of circus, flamenco, and humor, through an intuitive and contemporary dramaturgy that integrates juggling, singing, rhythms, and words.
Germán J.López Galván, juggler, flamenco artist, and the originator of the idea, poses the fundamental question: "Who am I? Am I a juggler who sings flamenco, or a flamenco artist who juggles?". The spectacle focuses on the journey to glimpse the answer, rather than the answer itself, offering "abstract, more intelligent, more absurd humor" and a contemporary dramaturgy that deconstructs established codes.
The artist moves between languages with absolute naturalness, questioning the need for definition and defending the capacity to inhabit multiple places simultaneously. The images constructed, such as a flamenco dress, boxing gloves, or juggling balls, act as symbols of a changing identity that the audience completes from their own experience.
Germán J.López Galván describes 'Empaque' as "an abstract painting, a contemplative work" where each spectator seeks their own meaning and takes away "their own content, sensations, and emotions." The work turns the audience into active participants, exploring layers of identity, memory, experiences, and emotions that shape each person, making each performance a unique journey.
The production is supported by rhythm, juggling, and a strong presence of flamenco singing, with which Germán J.López Galván himself will surprise the audience.
