The matador, who spent the weekend between his residence in La Puebla del Río and a new estate in Bollullos Par del Condado, in the province of Huelva, is seeking to accelerate his rehabilitation process. Sources close to the bullfighter indicate he is very encouraged and motivated to resume training this week.
The bullfighter's intention is not to be replaced in his next performance, scheduled for May 10 in Valladolid. To this end, he has reportedly asked the bullring manager to keep his spot on the bill, where he is scheduled alongside other prominent matadors to fight bulls from the Jandilla ranch.
“"It is the goring that has hurt me the most."
The goring, described as “very serious” by the surgeon who operated on him, affected the rectum and sphincter muscles. After being admitted to Viamed Santa Ángela Hospital in Seville, the bullfighter requested voluntary discharge last Friday to continue his recovery at home.
In addition to Valladolid, the matador has important engagements at the Jerez Horse Fair on May 15 and 16, for which tickets have already sold out. He also has two more afternoons scheduled in the Seville season: on June 4 for the Corpus bullfight and on September 27, completing his schedule in the Andalusian capital.
