The flames originated around 10:00 PM, and the area's abundant forest mass has facilitated its rapid spread, hindering extinction efforts throughout the night. Personnel from the Civil Guard, Huelva Firefighters, Civil Protection, and the Infoca Plan are working on the ground to curb the fire's advance.
Early Wednesday morning, a large ground operation was deployed, and aerial resources are expected to join with sunrise. The operation includes a hundred personnel, ten water trucks, a medical unit, a Mobile Meteorology Unit, and four bulldozers to create firebreaks. Efforts are focused on the fire's head, which is advancing towards an area with a high forest load.
This is the third forest fire declared in the province of Huelva in less than 24 hours. It follows the fire in Almonaster la Real, which remains stabilized after residents were allowed to return following their evacuation, and the one in Lucena del Puerto, which was extinguished on Tuesday night.
