The city of Sanlúcar has once again shown its solidarity with the celebration of the III Charity Race 'A Sea of Joy'. The event had over 1,600 registered participants and was centered at the Municipal Theater, aiming to raise awareness for the rare disease Syngap1 and support little Mar and her family.
The sporting day included a nine-kilometer race and a seven-kilometer walk, attracting participation from athletes, amateurs, and residents. The start and finish lines were located near the Municipal Theater, which also hosted the awards ceremony and a party with popular-priced refreshments and numerous musical performances.
The mayor, Carmen Álvarez, accompanied by the delegate for Social Services and Disability, Miguel Ángel Casal, expressed her recognition to the organization and all participants. She emphasized the municipal support for the research and understanding of this rare disease.

Carmen Álvarez, who received a distinction on behalf of the City Council, highlighted the strength and effort of Mar's parents, Manuel Odero ‘Noly’ and Paula Sánchez, in transforming difficulties into hope.
