A gigantic fish of enormous dimensions was spotted floating in the water at Cruz del Mar beach, known as Playita del Muelle, in Chipiona (Cádiz) around 3:00 PM this Thursday. Several bathers collaborated to bring it ashore, confirming it was a light-finned tuna weighing about two hundred kilograms.
The presence of the enormous animal attracted the curiosity of numerous residents and visitors, especially children, who came to observe it and take photos with it. The tuna showed no visible signs of violence or injury.
“"Its body, as is logical, cannot be used for consumption, so it will be buried."
The Local Police and the Civil Guard intervened in the removal of the specimen. A municipal beach machine took charge of removing the tuna's body at 4:15 PM. According to the municipal sources responsible for the removal, the animal is not fit for consumption and will be buried.
This incident is reminiscent of a similar event that occurred a few days ago in Marbella, where a tuna weighing about 300 kilos, which was alive and disoriented, appeared on El Ancón beach. On that occasion, vacationers managed to return the animal to the sea.
