With the aim of contributing to a cleaner and more sustainable city, the Sanlúcar City Council, through the Municipal Delegation of Infrastructures and the municipal company Emulisan, has launched a special reinforcement of the afternoon urban solid waste collection service. This measure will focus on particularly sensitive areas due to the high population density or increased foot traffic characteristic of the summer season.
Streets in the historic center, areas with high hospitality activity, and the town's coastline already benefit from this enhanced service to improve efficiency and preserve the city's conditions. The local government, led by mayor Carmen Álvarez, calls upon citizens to collaborate in maintaining urban cleanliness.
The regulations established in the Municipal Ordinance on Waste and Public Cleaning are recalled, stipulating that during the summer, waste cannot be deposited in containers before 10:00 PM. Furthermore, it is prohibited to leave garbage bags outside of containers or designated areas.
The Ordinance includes fines ranging from 200 to 60,000 euros, depending on the severity of the infraction, to ensure compliance with regulations and the preservation of Sanlúcar's cleanliness. The City Council appeals to the responsibility of both residents and visitors to continue advancing towards the shared goal of keeping the city clean year-round.
