Two months into the summer season, Sanlúcar's beaches offer their usual services, with notable new features in Bonanza: a dog-friendly beach and a new service point for people with reduced mobility.
From La Jara to Bonanza, 11 public restroom modules, nine showers, five watchtowers, and 29 walkways have been installed. The operation, active until September 15, includes surveillance, rescue, health assistance, and first aid.
The new adapted point in Bonanza features a rest and shade area, bathing assistance, an amphibious chair, an access walkway, a shower, a stretcher, a changing room, and a transfer hoist. This section also debuts a new watchtower, public address system, restrooms, shower, and waste bins.
The dog-friendly beach in Bonanza, located between Hernando de Soto street and the fishing port, is demarcated and equipped with a play area, specific bins, and enhanced cleaning services.
In La Calzada-Las Piletas, the Biblioplaya (Beach Library), with over 20 years of activity, continues to promote reading, alongside the recreational and sports areas distributed along the urban coast.
Sanlúcar's beaches have once again achieved the Q for Quality and S for Sustainability from the Institute for Spanish Tourism Quality and Sustainability (ICTES). The municipal company Emulisan has intensified cleaning efforts, particularly due to the arrival of the invasive Asian seaweed.
Mayor Carmen Álvarez highlighted the importance of the improvements and the local government's intention to expand services next year to areas like El Baluarte de San Salvador and Los Tres Bloques.
Álvarez also emphasized that Sanlúcar's beaches are ready for bathers and visitors, recalling the summer events, including the traditional horse races, whose second cycle begins today.
