The Municipal Equality Department has organized this event, which has become a key space to make visible the contribution of women to the social and festive life of Rota. The celebration will include a traditional commemorative lunch at the Municipal Booth.
Starting at 5:30 PM, the institutional Women's Day event will take place, where a group of women linked to various portable booths will be honored. These women have been nominated by their respective 'peñas' and associations, in recognition of their involvement in the fair's development.
“"This recognition seeks to highlight the trajectory and active participation of these women in the organization and operation of the booths, as well as their contribution to the atmosphere and the continuity of local traditions."
The selection of those honored was made based on proposals from the participating booths and 'peñas' themselves, with this edition focusing on the group of portable booths. In the previous edition, this recognition was dedicated to women linked to fixed booths.
The City Council has encouraged citizens to participate in this day and attend the institutional event, which is part of a broader program of cultural, musical, and social activities held over several days at the fairgrounds.
