The mayor, Carmen Álvarez, accompanied by the municipal delegate for Education, Carmen Pozo, visited CEIP El Pino to oversee the executed actions. The school's director, Fabiola Jiménez, thanked the council for the works, which included the renovation of the Early Childhood Education restrooms and the comprehensive painting of classrooms and playgrounds.
These improvements are in addition to those carried out in four other schools: restrooms were renovated at CEIP Maestra Rafaela Zárate in El Palomar and at CEIP Albaicín, which also features a new school cafeteria. Restrooms and facilities were also reformed at CEIP Maestro José Sabio, and a new enclosure was built at La Dehesilla school.
Carmen Álvarez highlighted that the total investment for these actions exceeds 1.3 million euros. She emphasized that the refurbishment of schools is a priority for the local government, always aiming to ensure the centers are in optimal condition for students and the educational community, despite the council's limited financial resources.
The mayor took the opportunity to wish teachers, students, and their families a good start to the academic year, which begins this coming Thursday.
