On May 12, Civil Guard agents conducted an operation in Chipiona that culminated in the discovery of a marijuana greenhouse in a rented property. Inside the dwelling, located in the Hijuela del Toruño area, 313 cannabis plants were found.
In addition to the plants, agents seized a complex electrical installation and several air conditioning units, specifically set up to optimize the growth of the plantation. These confiscated pieces of equipment will be donated to local non-profit organizations that serve vulnerable communities.
The initial investigation by the Civil Guard suggested that the property owner, who continued to frequent the premises, could not have been unaware of the illicit activities taking place, given the evident modifications made for illegal cultivation. Consequently, the owner is being investigated for alleged involvement in the events.
The two arrested women, the investigated owner, and the seized drugs have been placed at the disposal of the Duty Court of Sanlúcar de Barrameda for further proceedings.
