The garage, which offers 36 parking spaces and is located beneath a 1,372.50 square meter public square, is owned by local residents. The leakage issues have been attributed to deficiencies in the waterproofing of the upper surface, compromising the preservation and sanitation conditions of the space.
The authorized intervention includes the installation of a new, comprehensive waterproofing system. This will involve treating the junctions with vertical elements to prevent future water ingress. The primary goal is to definitively resolve the problems identified within the car park structure.
Detailed works will involve removing the existing pavement in affected areas, thorough cleaning, and preparing the substrate before installing the waterproofing system. Actions will also be taken at specific points, and a new walkable pavement will be laid once the technical tasks are completed.
“"The authorization of the works represents the necessary preliminary step for the repair work to be carried out."
The decision was made during a session of the Local Historical Heritage Commission, where other matters were also addressed. These included a favorable report on adapting a winery building on Doña Blanca Street for food retail use, and the internal division of a premises on Lancería Street for a hearing aid center.
Additionally, approval was given for repairs to the facade, balconies, roofs, and courtyards of the Cadastre Territorial Management building on Tornería Street. Finally, the Commission discussed the division of a premises on Medina Street, where one resulting space will be converted into a dwelling, and the other will retain its current use as a photographic studio.
