The Mayor of Sanlúcar, Carmen Álvarez, held a meeting in Cádiz with the new territorial delegate for Culture, Historical Heritage, and Sport of the Junta de Andalucía, Millán Alegre. The discussion focused on the execution of various projects in the town.
Among the initiatives addressed were the municipal works to rehabilitate the old Cárcel Real (Old Royal Prison) for its opening as a House of Culture. This project aims to create a new multifunctional public space in the pedestrianized Plaza de la Paz, alongside the renovation of Plaza Manuel Romero Pazos and the entire Barrio Alto neighborhood.
Furthermore, Álvarez and Alegre reviewed the status of several private construction permits requiring authorization from the Department of Culture.
The Mayor positively assessed the meeting, expressing confidence that the good rapport established will benefit the residents of Sanlúcar. She reiterated the importance of inter-administrative collaboration for the city's progress.
