The municipality of Chipiona will become the epicenter of watercolor art from October 2nd to 4th with the celebration of the 'Creativity, Landscape, and Friendship' Watercolor Days. This cultural event is expected to gather hundreds of artists who will capture their works in various corners of the town and conduct live painting sessions.
The mayor of Chipiona, Luis Mario Aparcero, and the Councilor for City Promotion, Eduardo Lorenzo Caro, have invited residents and visitors to enjoy this initiative. They have expressed their gratitude for the collaboration of Arte Kanary, the Andalusian Watercolorists Association, the Urban Sketchers collectives of the Bay of Cadiz and Sanlúcar de Barrameda, as well as AFANAS and the ‘La Luz’ Parkinson's Association, which are beneficiary entities of the event.
The main event will take place on Saturday, October 3rd, at the Plaza del Molino, where most of the artists will gather. The day will be enhanced with live performances and a solidarity bar, with proceeds going to the ‘La Luz’ Association for Families of Parkinson's Patients.
At the same location, at 10:00 AM, a children's and youth workshop will be held to introduce outdoor painting to younger participants. Subsequently, at 11:00 AM, a talk on watercolor will be given, followed by the presentation of the exercise for participants. The painting activity will commence at 11:30 AM and continue until 1:00 PM, after which the created works will be exhibited.
Participants are required to bring their own materials, including A3 size drawing or watercolor paper, school watercolors or tempera paints, a jar, brushes, and colored pencils.
The program also includes the solidarity exhibition ‘With a Heart in Watercolor’, which can be visited from October 2nd to 12th at the Sala Espacio Vacío, located at Peña El Chusco. This exhibition is charitable, and its proceeds will be donated to AFANAS.
