This project, which has already begun the land preparation phase, aims to transform the port's energy management through innovation and the use of renewable sources. The first stage, led by the Motril Port Authority, focuses on the urbanization and paving of an area of approximately 30,000 square meters, designated for a new pre-boarding zone with direct connections to the A7 and A44 highways.
The consortium behind 'Green Motril' comprises the Motril Port Authority, Grupo Cuerva, and General Electric. Following the land improvement and foundation work by the Port Authority, Grupo Cuerva will install the photovoltaic solar canopies. Meanwhile, General Electric will lead the implementation of a smart grid infrastructure, enabling efficient management of generated energy and a storage system to ensure its availability.
