The anticipated athletics event in Motril now has a confirmed date: the 42nd Motril City Half Marathon will be held on October 18th. This edition promises to be historic, not only for its route but also for hosting the 2026 Andalusian Half Marathon Championship and being part of the Granada Provincial Council's Fondo Grand Prix.
Participants can choose between two distances: 21K and 10K. A notable new feature is the inclusion of a section along the Senda Litoral, offering runners unique coastal views. The start will be from the Paseo de las Explanadas, and the finish line will be at the Port of Motril.
A record participation is expected, with an estimated 2,500 participants, making this edition the most crowded in the event's history. Runners will receive a commemorative t-shirt, a finisher medal, and a runner's bag.
Registration will open on Monday, July 27th, and will be available until October 13th through the CruzandoLaMeta platform. Interested individuals are encouraged to secure their bibs in advance.
