Thousands of people packed Poniente Beach in Motril to enjoy the twentieth edition of the Air Festival, an event that transformed the Granada coastline into a grand showcase of aviation and spectacle. The day, marked by heat and a summer atmosphere, saw umbrellas and coolers deployed from early morning to combat the high temperatures.
The high public attendance led to intense vehicle traffic into Motril, with a constant search for parking near the venue. The festival brought together a wide representation of air resources from the Armed Forces and state security forces.
For nearly four hours, the sky over the Mediterranean served as a stage for demonstrations ranging from training aircraft to heavy transport helicopters, acrobatic patrols, and historic planes. The Águila Patrol and the local Aspa Patrol were among the main attractions, with their precise maneuvers and synchronized flights.
The roar of helicopters, such as the Chinook, and the aerobatics of the Pilatus PC-21 training aircraft captured the audience's attention with high-speed passes and spectacular turns. The program also paid homage to aviation history with the display of several restored classic aircraft.
This twentieth edition reaffirmed the festival's significant drawing power, establishing it as a key summer event in the province of Granada. The combination of beach, good weather, and air displays brought together tens of thousands of people, confirming the robust health of a national aeronautical event.
