The Provincial Fishing Circuit of Granada has expanded its calendar for this edition, which will take place between June and November, covering a total of eight municipalities in the province.
The competition will kick off on June 7 in Freila, at the Negratín reservoir, and will continue on June 21 in Huéscar, with a round at the San Clemente reservoir. The third event is scheduled for July 5 in Loja, specifically in Ríofrío, while on July 12, participants will compete at the Los Bermejales reservoir in Arenas del Rey.
After the summer break, activities will resume on September 19 at Salobreña beach. The calendar will continue on September 27 at the Colomera reservoir, followed by October 24 at La Herradura beach in Almuñécar, and will conclude on November 28 at Poniente beach in Motril.
The competitions will feature freshwater, sea-coast, and salmonid modalities. For freshwater fishing, participants can use coup techniques, with or without reels, accommodating various skill levels. Sea-coast events will involve surfcasting from the beach, a popular method along the Granada coast. The salmonid modality will adhere to a catch-and-release philosophy, promoting the conservation of river ecosystems.
The event was presented by the Deputy for Sports and Sports Facilities, Eric Escobedo. The initiative is organized by the Andalusian Federation of Sport Fishing, through its Territorial Delegation in Granada, along with the host municipalities, with the collaboration of the Provincial Council of Granada and sponsorship from Salvador Villena Deportes Cabopesca.
