The municipality of Albuñol is hosting the second edition of its Book Fair, a cultural event taking place from Thursday, April 17 to April 18, 2026, with the goal of promoting reading habits among all ages.

Since its inauguration last Thursday, the Albuñol Book Fair has transformed the municipality into a vibrant literary meeting point. The initiative, which will run until April 18, brings together educational centers, writers, and the general public around a diverse and enriching program.
During the three days of the event, attendees can enjoy a wide range of activities including exhibitions, interactive workshops, book signing sessions, and presentations of new works. Additionally, the fair offers poetry recitals, magic shows, and other cultural proposals designed to energize both the municipality and the region.

The Albuñol Book Fair also aims to provide a platform for local and provincial talent.

Among the authors participating in this edition are prominent figures such as Juan Madrid, a recognized reference in crime fiction in Spain and Europe; May Ayamonte, author of young adult literature; Andrés Cárdenas, a journalist and writer with extensive experience; and Ángeles Mora, a highly relevant personality in poetry.
The program also includes special events such as a popular meal in the Town Hall Square on Saturday, coinciding with recreational Olympics. Music will liven up the day with performances by the Albuñol Music School and a duo formed by Marta Iglesias (violin) and Manuel Álvarez (piano). Simultaneously, activities will also take place in the multi-purpose building.
A fundamental pillar of the fair is the promotion of local and provincial talent, with a dedicated space to give a voice to these creators. At the inauguration, Ángel and Pachi Idígoras were responsible for the opening speech and the design of the announcement poster, respectively. The educational dimension is reinforced with literary contests, excursions, and previous activities designed to involve the whole family and awaken an interest in reading.
As a novelty in this second edition, a commemorative book is being presented, compiling texts by international authors about La Alpujarra granadina, an initiative that seeks to enhance the visibility and projection of Albuñol. The complete program is available on the social media channels of the Albuñol Town Hall.
