The race, part of a national circuit, aims to strengthen ties between the police force and citizens, promoting sports and solidarity. The event will take place along the town's coastline.
The mayor of Torremolinos, Margarita del Cid, along with the Chief Commissioner of the National Police in Torremolinos-Benalmádena, Antonio de Haro, and other institutional representatives and from Cruz Roja, presented the activity. The mayor highlighted the work of the National Police and their closeness to citizens, as well as the event's solidarity aspect.
Antonio de Haro emphasized the National Police's commitment to society and encouraged citizens to register, either directly for the race or through the solidarity 'bib number zero'.
The author of the promotional poster, Laura Porporatto, explained that her artwork conveys the essence of Torremolinos and the connection between the city and the National Police, with the Casa de los Navajas as a prominent element.
The competition will feature a five-kilometer route for adults (over 14 years old), starting at 6:30 PM from Los Álamos to the Playamar area. Previously, at 6:15 PM, a 400-meter race for children aged 10 to 13 will take place, and at 6:00 PM, a 200-meter race for children aged 4 to 9.
Registrations, costing 13 euros for adults and 10 euros for children under 13 (up to a maximum of 1,000 participants), can be made via the website www.ruta091.es. Participants will receive a runner's bag with a commemorative t-shirt. There is an option for a solidarity bib for those who wish to contribute financially.
