Mayor Ana Mata and the Councillor for Tourism, Francisco Jerez, are carrying out promotional activities at the Turismo Costa del Sol stand. Tourists from the United Kingdom represent Mijas's main foreign clientele, and the municipality aims to attract them by highlighting its twelve golf courses, particularly popular in winter, and its diverse gastronomic offerings.
Under this year's campaign slogan, ‘Where Life Flows’, Mijas also emphasizes health and nature tourism, including its 14 kilometers of coastline with five Blue Flag beaches and nine quality and sustainability certifications.
The Mayor stressed that Mijas is a destination capable of satisfying the demands of all types of tourists, especially the British, who are its primary international market. She also participated in the press conference held by the president of the Provincial Council and Turismo Costa del Sol, Francis Salado.
The growing importance of the Mijas Lab – Tourist Cluster, a public-private cooperation body analyzing sector challenges, was also highlighted. This cluster is studying the feasibility of an annual gastronomic event to showcase local products, culinary methods, and the quality of the municipality's dining establishments.
Mijas is considered a key player at the World Travel Market, reinforcing its attractions in gastronomy, golf, relaxation, and nature – elements highly sought after by tourists.
