The Manilva City Council continues to advance in the development of its Municipal Equality Plan. This project involves the participation of associations, groups, and clubs from the municipality linked to cultural, social, sports, and educational spheres.
Representatives from these entities attended a meeting convened to learn about the plan's progress and contribute their input. The Councilor for Equality and Diversity, Laura Salazar, emphasized the importance of incorporating the local associative fabric's perspective to achieve a more cooperative, participatory, and inclusive document.
The Municipal Equality Plan's main objectives include guaranteeing equal treatment and opportunities between women and men, and progressing in the elimination of any sex-based discrimination.
Concurrently, the City Council has launched the initiative “Your voice counts to build a more egalitarian Manilva,” aimed at facilitating citizen participation and gathering residents' opinions and proposals. Contributions can be made via a QR code on campaign information posters, forms at the Social Welfare offices (Manilva Town Hall and Sabinillas Multi-purpose Building), and in some local establishments.
Through this participatory phase, the Council intends to incorporate the population's diverse perspectives and needs into the future Municipal Equality Plan, fostering greater involvement from groups and citizens in the final document.
