The Torremolinos City Council has carried out various cleaning, maintenance, renovation, and painting tasks at the Virgen del Carmen I and II pool complex during its closure period, aiming to ensure its proper functioning for the start of the new sports season.
Among the improvements are the replacement of shower single-lever mixers in the changing rooms of the 50-meter pool with a more modern model. Additionally, ceiling spotlights throughout the complex have been replaced with LED technology, enabling greater energy and economic savings. Maintenance checks have also been performed on common area spotlights.
Regarding painting work, the Public Services team has repainted boilers, conducted a general paint job on both pools, the beam structure in the 25-meter pool, and applied non-slip flooring on the building's ground floor.
Elements such as the floor in the instructors' and SOS changing room corridor, air extraction grilles, filter spiders 1 and 3, filter sand replaced with glass, stones in the foot bath, the 25 motor for the pressure group, the spa perimeter grille, and the dehumidifying rods for the tube plates have been replaced.
The bottom of the 50-meter pool tank has been emptied and repaired. New inspection chambers have been installed in the basement floor of the 25-meter pool area, in both men's and women's changing rooms. Broken tiles in common areas have also been repaired, and lockers have been checked.
During the closure of the indoor pools, annual maintenance has been carried out, including cleaning of air systems, spa repair and disinfection, refilling of pool filters, cleaning of shower heads and faucets, and cleaning of pool bottoms and tile repair.
In the outdoor area of the complex, sidewalk and facade cleaning tasks have been undertaken, along with the painting of road markings. These actions are essential for the maintenance of the aquatic facilities, which host numerous sports activities and competitions throughout the year.
