The traditional San Miguel Romería in Torremolinos will take place on Sunday, September 20th, bringing together a total of 54 carts in an event that blends devotion and celebration.

The day will commence at 9 AM at the Ermita San Miguel with the blessing of pilgrims and the departure of the patron saint towards Avenida de los Manantiales. A romera mass, sung by the choir San Miguel, will be held there.
At 10:30 AM, the procession will begin its route through Avenida los Manantiales, Plaza Costa del Sol, Avenida Palma de Mallorca, Avenida Joan Miró, Rafael Quintana Rosado street, Carretera de Benalmádena, the Pozuelo crossing, and conclude in the Pine Forest area.
During the pilgrimage, the traditional cart and tractor contest will take place, where a jury will award prizes for the best decorated cart and tractor, as well as the most cheerful and lively participants. The awards ceremony will be held on the fair's Saturday at the Senior Citizens and Associations' booth.
The City Council will install six watering troughs along the route for the animals' hydration, as well as twelve portable toilets along the path and another six in the camping area.
In the afternoon, starting at 4:45 PM, the esplanade in front of the Ermita will host musical performances by Los del Río, preceded by local artists Ulises Serrano and Carlos Bravo.
Participants are reminded of the prohibition against lighting fires from June 1st to October 15th, as per the Order from the BOJA dated May 21, 2009, which applies to rest areas and recreational zones.
A special cleaning operation, involving 40 workers, 140 bins, and support vehicles, will ensure the maintenance of the route and the fairground. Afterwards, 25 operators will handle the final cleanup.
Security will be enhanced by a force of 56 local police officers, with support from a cavalry unit from the Málaga Local Police.
The San Miguel Romería, celebrating its 86th edition since its inception in 1940, is one of Andalusia's most historic urban pilgrimages. Initially a country festival, it was dedicated to Saint Michael the Archangel in 1950.
