The Brotherhood of Sailors Virgen del Carmen de la Carihuela organizes the traditional procession in honor of its patron saint and honorary mayor. The day will begin at 5:30 PM with the gathering of sailors in Plaza Chiriva, followed by a parade through Chiriva, San Ginés, and Carmen streets.
The procession will depart at 7:00 PM from the Parish Church Nuestra Señora del Carmen de la Carihuela, accompanied by the Cruz de Humilladero Music Band and the Stmo. Cristo de la Redención Trumpet and Drum Band from Benalmádena. The route will include Carmen Street, San Ginés Street, Chiriva Street, Pasaje Carihuela, Los Perros Street, Huerta del Rincón Street, and the Carihuela Maritime Promenade.
Around 9:00 PM, the procession will reach Rincón del Sol beach, where a celebration of the word and a sailor's prayer will take place, led by the orchestra Rompeolas. Afterwards, it will continue along the Maritime Promenade, Plaza del Remo, Bulto Street, and Carmen Street until it returns to its temple.
This event, recognized as a Festival of Tourist Singularity by the Provincial Council of Málaga and a Festival of Tourist Interest by the Junta de Andalucía, will be broadcast live on the official social media channels of the Torremolinos City Council on Facebook and Instagram.
Due to the procession, traffic will be cut off on Párroco Don Antonio Díaz Romero Street from 5:00 PM to 11:00 PM, and on Del Remo Street from its intersection with Los Nidos Street.
To facilitate access to La Carihuela, the City Council has extended the operating hours of the panoramic elevator at the Parque de la Batería, which will be open from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM and from 4:00 PM to 12:00 AM.
