The incident occurred on Tuesday when three suspects allegedly snatched a gold chain from a tourist in Mijas. Subsequently, the individuals reportedly stole a high-end Audi at gunpoint from another woman nearby.
Police quickly launched a pursuit around 6:40 PM as the stolen car joined the A-7 motorway towards Torremolinos. The chase ended when officers forced the thieves' getaway car off the road, bringing their escape to a halt in a dramatic crash.
The three occupants of the vehicle were arrested and are now being investigated for the alleged robbery, the use of the stolen vehicle, and the events that transpired during the police pursuit. Several officers were reportedly injured in the smash-up.
