A National Police officer was injured after accidentally shooting himself in the leg, according to police sources. The incident occurred at the guard post of the Marbella Police Station.
The officer himself, after firing his service weapon, sustained a gunshot wound to his lower extremities. His condition is not serious, and the specific circumstances of the incident have not yet been disclosed.
With the gunshot wound to his leg, the officer was transferred to a hospital where he is receiving medical assistance. Consulted sources emphasize that his life is not in danger and highlight the accidental nature of the discharge.
This incident adds to other recent episodes involving firearms on the Costa del Sol, such as a shooting that occurred in Estepona last July in the parking lot of a beach bar, where a man was injured by several gunshots.
