During the past month of April, the Mijas Local Police managed a total of 170 cases related to citizen safety and compliance with municipal ordinances. These actions, distributed throughout the municipality, primarily aimed to ensure coexistence and public order.
Of the total operations, 94 corresponded to infringements of the Citizen Safety Law, while 76 were linked to municipal ordinances. Additionally, officers made 19 arrests and conducted 42 preventive security and documentation checks in various areas of Mijas.
In the area of citizen safety, 69 complaints for drug consumption in public spaces, 12 for disrespecting authority figures, and 8 for possession of prohibited weapons stood out. Regarding civility, 41 complaints were processed for dumping organic waste in unauthorized places, 18 for not collecting dog excrement or diluting urine, and four for having animals off-leash.

A municipal spokesperson emphasized the importance of citizen collaboration to keep the municipality clean, orderly, and safe, highlighting that respect for rules is fundamental for proper coexistence in Mijas.
