The disinsection work, carried out by the municipal Health department, responds to the detection of these insects in the Miramar area, according to a recent control by the Regional Government of Andalusia. As a preventive measure, these three facilities will remain closed to the public today, July 29, 2026, and will reopen tomorrow at their usual hours.
This fumigation is part of the reinforcement of the surveillance and control plan that the council has been implementing since last Saturday, July 24. The plan began with intensive fumigation throughout the weekend in humid areas and drains of the municipality.
The frequency of fumigations in the affected area has been reduced from fortnightly to weekly. These measures will be maintained, at a minimum, until August 21, the date set by the Regional Government of Andalusia for the declared alert.
The City Council reminds the public of the importance of adopting personal preventive measures, such as using repellents and mosquito nets, and avoiding stagnant water in private properties.
